Early Spring Plant ID Walk ($15-$30 Sliding Scale)

Take an afternoon walk along the Deschutes River at Pioneer Park with naturalist and educator Ryan Johnson from Firecraft Northwest to discover the early spring plants that are emerging from their winter slumber. Participants will learn foundational botany concepts, plant id features, and fun facts along the way!

Session Outline and Objectives

  • Learn foundational botany concepts and terminology

  • Practice identifying a variety of plants in two-three habitat types

  • Connect with other plant enthusiasts in the community

Accessibility

  • Our walk will be an approximately 1.5 mile flat loop with little to no elevation gain

  • We will stop frequently to examine, touch, smell, and observe plants along the path

  • Restrooms are available at the parking lot
