Join naturalists from Firecraft Northwest and other co-organizers of the Feminist Bird Club South Sound chapter for a morning of birds!
We’ll meet at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge — and incredible hot spot for seeing lots of bird and wildlife species. We’ll do a slow walk on packed earth/gravel and boardwalk to talk about the birds we see and hear! All skill levels welcome; binoculars available to borrow. This outing is free, but rsvp is required.
About Feminist Bird Club
This is a local chapter of the national Feminist Bird Club organization. The Feminist Bird Club (FBC) is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in birding while providing a safe opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and women to connect with the natural world. FBC’s goal is two-fold: Make birding and the outdoors inclusive and affirming to people who may not have safe access to it, and leverage people’s passion for the environment and social justice to help create lasting social change. More simply put: There is no reason why we can’t celebrate birds and support our most cherished beliefs in equity and justice at the same time. For us, it’s not either/or. Learn more about FBC principles.
