Join naturalists from Firecraft Northwest and other co-organizers of the Feminist Bird Club South Sound chapter for a morning of birds!

We’ll meet at Sequalitchew Creek Trail in DuPont, a diversified habitat of forest, creekside, and the banks for the Sound - the perfect place for a variety of birds! We’ll do a slow meander to see what birds we can see and hear. All skill levels welcome; binoculars available to borrow. This outing is free, but rsvp is required.

About Feminist Bird Club

This is a local chapter of the national Feminist Bird Club organization. The Feminist Bird Club (FBC) is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in birding while providing a safe opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and women to connect with the natural world. FBC’s goal is two-fold: Make birding and the outdoors inclusive and affirming to people who may not have safe access to it, and leverage people’s passion for the environment and social justice to help create lasting social change. More simply put: There is no reason why we can’t celebrate birds and support our most cherished beliefs in equity and justice at the same time. For us, it’s not either/or. Accessibility and other notes:

• No parking pass is required; the parking lot is shared with DuPont City Hall and Police Department

• There is one vault toilet at the parking lot

• We will do a slow walk on a flat trail, possibly covering up to three miles; learn more about the trail here

• All skill levels are welcome; binoculars available to borrow for the morning

• Options to do slower walk/return to parking lot as needed
