Mima Mounds Nature Walk (Free)

  • Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve 12315 Waddell Creek Road Southwest Olympia, WA, 98512 United States (map)

Join naturalists from Firecraft Northwest to explore the mysterious and wildflower-filled Mima Mounds. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy the variety of flowers and birds that inhabit the rolling prairie. We’ll do a slow meander along the trails to see what we can find, enjoy the views and new friends!

Accessibility notes:

  • We will likely do a slow, 1.5-2-mile walk along the trails, with the option to remain on the paved, flat paths. Learn more about the trails here.

  • There is one vault toilet at the trailhead

  • This is a DNR site that requires a Discover Pass for parking

  • Please note, this location is next to a shooting range, and gunshots may be heard; we’re hopeful that an evening outing will limit this noise
