nature & survival series

nature + skills + community

In this apprenticeship style series, join Firecraft Northwest Instructors for a deep dive into nature awareness and survival skills. Our cohort meets once a month on Saturdays for four sessions— Feb-May in Spring and Sept-Dec in the Fall.

We cover a wide variety of subjects including survival basics, fire making, plant identification, bird identification, wildlife tracking, tool use, sensory/nature awareness, fireside cooking, and more.

Sessions utilize a blend of hands-on training, interactive activities, and detailed educational content. Every session the group will learn Naturalist Skills, Survival Skills, and practice and take home one Wild Craft. We visit a new location each date for this course.

The poster outlines skills in Naturalist Skills such as wildlife tracking, Survival Skills like fire starting, and Wild Crafting like knife safety. Sessions occur one Saturday per month from September to December in South Sound.

“After just one firecraft session, my entire relationship with nature changed to one of symbiosis and deep gratitude.”
