Intro to Natural Cordage with nettle ($35)

  • Kenneydell County Park 6745 Fairview Road Southwest Olympia, Washington, 98512 United States (map)

Spend the morning in the woods with us during this hands-on, outdoor workshop. You’ll learn how to identify, harvest, and prepare Stinging Nettle, a great local resource for natural cordage. Then you’ll use the reverse-wrap method to make and take home your very own nettle cord bracelet and/or stretch of cordage.

Note - because cordage is pre-harvested and dried, we will not be harvesting on site this day. Instead, the instructors will bring everything you need for the project. We will work on our projects in the shelter, and then do a quick walk through the woods to find and identify stinging nettle in the field so you can keep practicing on your own after class!
