In partnership with Forterra, we’ll get to walk the trails at Maxine G Morse Preserve to see which fungi are out this fall. During this slow meander through the woods, participants will learn the key tree species in the PNW and why those are important for identifying and finding fungi.

We’ll learn the roles fungi play in the ecosystem and how to distinguish different mushrooms with field guides and spore prints. This class is great for beginners hoping to dive into the world of fungi and foraging along with plant identification. Thanks to Forterra, this outing is free to the public, but RSVP is required.
