Bone Arrowhead Earring Workshop | Sept 28 | 10AM - 1PM
Join naturalist and artist, Licia Sahagun, from Firecraft Northwest for a morning of DIY earrings! We’ll learn about how to work with bone safely as a natural material and a bit about the human history of using bone for tools.
Then, we’ll work with bone shards (some from the wolf feeding piles from our partners at Wolf Haven International!), honing them to the shape and size we want using a traditional sandstone shaping process. Finally, we’ll add notches, optional beads and embellishments, and earring hooks. All while outside at a shelter in the beautiful, waterside Squaxin Park!
The three-hour class should leave enough time for breaks and socializing as well depending on how speedy of a crafter you are!
Note: this class uses repetitive, fine motor movements and may not be accessible to those with arthritis or similar mobility limitations in your hands or those that have trouble sitting for long periods of time. Reach out if you have any questions or to brainstorm accommodations.
