Wildlife Tracking Field Workshop | April 25 | 9:30 PM - 12:30 PM

Join certified wildlife trackers and naturalists from Firecraft Northwest for a field session at Wolf Haven International to study the animals around us. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of wildlife tracking and develop methods for interpreting tracks and signs on the landscape.

In this hands-on field outing, you’ll learn:

  • Wildlife tracking basic concepts (an overview) - tracks, signs, disturbance

  • Introductions to animal behavior and morphology

  • Nature observation and awareness, nature connection

  • Hands on training in the field to practice interpreting wildlife track and sign

  • Recommended resources

  • Engage with and discuss identifying several species of real-life PNW wildlife tracks and signs!

Notes on the location for this outing:

We’ll be at Wolf Haven International for this session. Park at the visitor center and we’ll meet at the outdoor picnic tables to begin.

Accessibility:
We’ll cover between 1 and 2 miles on this outing, taking regular breaks to discuss what we find.

Restrooms
Portable toilets are available adjacent to the visitor center.
